Shelfari - Registration is required. User can add books to the virtual shelf very easily. Widget is updated as shelf is updated. Limited choices for appearance. Shelf can be used to advertise new books, reading lists, and more
Library Thing - Registration is required. Searching is not as easy as Shelfari. Appearance choices are more varied.
Avatar Voki - Registration is required. Users can create their own avatar, including background, appearance, and voice. Avatar can be used to post messages from the librarian, either through voice recording or text-to-speech. Avatar can be used on cell phones, webpages, etc... Photo Presentation Photo Peach - Registration is required. Users can take images and create two different presentations, story or spiral. Music can be added, as well as captions. This is an interesting way to present pictures or other images. Presentations are saved on site and can be added to webpages, etc...
PikiKids - Registration is required. This site allows the user create comic strips by uploading images and adding bubble comments. Strips can be made up of single cells, or multiple cells in a variety of configurations. Comics are saved on site and can be added to webpages, etc...
